After a night filled qith thunderstorm we are able to tacke off for three shorts flights.

After take off the city of Les Sables d'Olonne.

Our first stop île d'Yeu.

On the ground at Ile d'Yeu, even if overflight of water is short, we keep our lifewest on.

And the answer for those who didn't get the answer. We ate a little before the third flight of the day.

West of la Baule, Le Croisic.

Then the Gulf of Morbihan.

And then we fly along Quiberon before the crossing to our final destination Belle-île.

This is the citadel of Palais on Belle-île with nice colors for the sea.

This is the rather short landing runway at Bell-île. The runway seemed even shorter as the flaps did not extend. Note for the future : in case a flap failure the runway must be at least 700m long. On the ground we found the fuse had melted.

At the hotel, Sabine goes for a massage and I explore the surroundings by bicycle.

Today we begun a small tour of western France. The initial plan was to fly to north Brittany and then along the coast towards La Rochelle. The weather being misty and cloudy we decided to do the tour in reverse and landed on this east-west runway.

These last days F-PSGA made a few firsts. We made our first trip abroad heading for Frankfurt Egelsbach a few miles south of Frankfurt-Main international airport. Passing the border and flying in Germany proved to be non events. Arrival at Egelbach was a bit like flying around Paris, ducking under the big airport airspace and following some VFR reporting points to avoid heavily urbanized areas.

Next day, yesterday I had two flights on my program : first my godmother

with the overflight of a small castle south of Darmstadt.

And then it was Petra's turn.

At Egelsbach (EDFE), all operation went without any hassle, fees were quite low (7 euros for a landing and 5 euros for 24h parking). Only fule was expensive, 25% more than in France.

All in all a good and great experience.

Some sun today so wuth Sabine we made a short flight to the Loire castles.

After a stop at Amboise, this is the castle that inspired Hergé for the Moulinsart castle, Cheverny.

Today we had blue skies and planned to fly to Mont Saint-Michel with a stop at Grandville. First we could not fill the tanks as the pump refused to give out any avgas, we postponed this for our first stop having enough fuel on board.

After 10mn of flight, the oil temperature began acting up before settling at a very low value. All the other parameters were in the green. As we were at the bginning of the trip we diecided to turn back and investigate. I think it's either the probe or the wiring.

At home a search on the net showed the probes were problem prone so I orderd a new one but I'll also check the wiring next time at the hangar.

Anyway, we'll see Mont Saint-Michel another time.
