Elevator trim
Catégorie: Finishing : Wiring

I took down the left elevator to work on the trim servo wiring. A five strand wire is running from the fusleage through the horizontal stab and then to the left elevator where the strim servo is installed. To connect the wires to the servo I use some D-SUB pins that will then be covered by heat shrink.
This allows for a light and easy installation and removal if necessary.

Then the whole assembly gets some heatshrink and goes through a grommet installed on the forward spar of the elevator. The wire is supposed to go through the bigger hole, but I think it might interfere with the servo's screw.

The cable has to be cut or it won't be possible to get the elevator of the plane. SO I will have to install a connector small enough to go through all the holes. I make some tries using the method found on Aeroelectric. But, I'll see later how I'll work this out.
