Sticks
Catégorie: Finishing : Wiring

I first finish the flaps wiring I left yesterday.
Today's goal was to finish and test the trim wiring.
To test the trims I have to install the stick wiring. I first have to sand the inside of the wooden grips so they can slide on the stick tubing.
I also have to cut the tubing so that the stick does not interfere with the panel, I leave them as long as possible it will be easier to cut them shorter later. The right side goes well as the stick can be unplugged and cut on the bench. The left side I decide to cut in the cockpit. And, by mistake, I begin to cut too low at the mark I made for the bottom of the grip. The picture shows the cut mark, I think it can be welded but I will order a new stick. I don't like to mess with the flight controls.

The wires exit at the bottom of the stick.

This is the right side grip : at the rear, the push to talk, at the front, the coolie hat for the trims and the autopilot disconnect.

I couldn't make the connections for all teh wires today, but checked the trim indicators. They give some indications, once all is wired we'll see if the really work.
