Initially I thought I would not have to fill the sccop, but to get I better finish I finally did it. Some sanding to do in the future.

Then I fabricated the bracket that wil hold the nuplates for the screw that will hold the hinge pin. This is on the upper cowl.

This is the lower cowl bracket. Once the cut is made in the cowl, the small piece that will hide all this will be flush with the cowl, rather than sitting on top.

First some sanding and then I painted the interior of the cowl with some leftover epoxy. The idea is to have the interior looking a bit better, even if it has not to be the same as outside.
Then I tried to come up with a nice solution for the fitting of the hinge pin. Those tend to creep forward and mess with the propeller, which is not a good thing.
I decided to loop the front end of the pin and have a screw oing through the loop to secure the pin.

The cowl will be cut along the blue line and a small aluminium bracket on the inside will be fitted with platenuts.

The hole will be hiddent by a small aluminium part. The lower screw will also hold the pin.
So all that's left to to is fabricate all the parts.
