The epoxy layer is not completely cured, so it's not possible to work on the whole surface of the cowl.
But the inlet area needs to be built up on one or the other cowl to get a good fit. I'm using some thickened epoxy. The initial pass is quite rough to get the correct height, some more work will be needed to get a nice finish.
This is the outside of the inlet.

And that's the inside.

I begin by filling the voids between the upper inlet ramps and the cowl. Once cured, I will be able to lay some fiberglass.

Surface finishing is then on the agenda. First some sanding then painting with amix of epoxy and acetone.
The picture show how the cowls are glossy after the mixture has been applied.

The long task of filling the cowl goes on. After a thorough sanding, I applied some epoxy putty to all the big holes that have to be filled. Netx operation will be to use the Van's method for all the pin holes.

The upper inlet ramps have to be bonded to the upper cowl. The cowls are installed on the plane to avoid distortions during the curing process.

Still working on the scoop.
First the foam block has to come out. Then after some cleaning, a few layers of fiberglass are put on scoop from the inside so it is also held from inside the cowl.
For the time being it does not look too bad.

As I have some epoxy left, I begin the tedious process of filling the thousand pinholes on the cowl.
