After some sanding with 320 grit, the cowls seems to look good enough for a light coat of primer.
I don't cross spray, the coat should only show the small problems. There are quite few, I'll sand and fill them tomorrow before the fianl paint coat.

Before priming the cowl, I first have to fill in all the holes I have found last time. There are a lot more than expected, every square inch has to be inspected.

Today I primed the cowls. The surface is quite large. I sprayed a thin layer of primer so that all the spots that need to be refilled and resanded are highly visible.
All in all, the cowls don't look that bad but there are a few spots , mainly the edges and around the tighter curves that I will have to resurface.

This is a spot that needs to be reworked.

During my priming tests some paint was remaining so I had primed the lower scoop of the cowl. The good nes is there were no pinholes, the bad one is some epoxy runs where not sanded as they are barely visible under normal light conditions.
So I sanded the cowls one more time, and found some small spots that needed some filling.

I finished sanding both cowls. Now almost all the parts are ready to be painted for the first time (spinner and nose leg fairing are not done yet).
