I go on lacing the wiring. I first finish the runs on the floor. Access near the firewall has me crouching under the panel. It's not easy and it's not the last time. I can put back the electric fuel pump. Then I put back the forward fairing. I have to modify it so it does not interfere with the heat valve cable. One can make out the two wire runs going up the firewall, I still have to tie them up. I then lace the wire runs coming from the engine and clamp them down. This is the left side. And this is the right side. Working time on this subpart Today : 4h (Total : 196h) |

As it's pouring down today I postpone working on the wing. So I go on with lacing the wiring. After having done the right stick, I can cleco the floors. I then do some small works including the service bulletin on the autopilot pitch servo. To finish the afternoon I begin lacing the harnesses running along the floor. This is the left side. The aim was to finish the wiring of the terminal strip at the bottom of the sticks. But first I had to make sure all the wires and tubing going through the main frame were in place. There was not enough room for the AOA pressure tubings, so I drilled a new hole albeit not documented by Vans, many builders do this. I choose a spot were there would be no interference with other holes or structural elements. There are also two more wires running from the microphone plug to the PTT on the stick. And finally, all the wires are secured at the terminal strip. Working time on this subpart Today : 2h (Total : 188h) |

The left stick I have ordered about ten days ago, has already been delivered. Two hours were needed to get the old stick out, rewire the new one and get it back in the cockpit. Working time on this subpart Today : 2h (Total : 186h) |

Still working on the wiring by installing the clamps on the left side. I first have to take outthe EFIS to be get acces to rivet the nutplates. The D-sub connectors get their shells installed, this is the left EFIS. When the D-sub connector is in line, I join them by using two zip ties. I then use some adhesive velcro to mount them on a flat surface. Working time on this subpart Today : 3h (Total : 184h) |
