Today I modified the vent support bracket to install the headset jacks. To avoid having the bracket bending each time the headset is connected or disconnected, I fabricated a small bracket that will be riveted to the fuselage. Here a picture from behind the panel.

And here, the small bracket is clecoed to the sideskin.

The right side with the headset plugged in.

On the left side, the fit doesn't look that good, there is some space between the panel, the aluminium angle and the vent bracket. I'll have a look into that tomorrow, but it looks like I will have to make a new bracket.
Last news, the engine will be here tomorrow.

I finished fabricating the vent support bracket and adpated the angle that will be installed under the instrument panel. Here the right side.

And here the left side with an early idea of the cut line and the headset jacks position.

I also modified the brake fluid reservoir connection to the brake lines, I didn't like Vans' plastic tee, so I used an aluminium one with a union and two elbows.

As I didn't find a satisfactory solution to the interface between vent bracket and the angle I want to install below the panel, I decide de refrabricate new bracket. Here is the right side, the lower part will hold the jacks for the headset and needs to be trimmed to size. The left bracket will be fabricated next time.

I received a mail from Mattituck telling me that my engine was ready to be shipped, pending the funds transfer. I think the engine will be here within the next ten days. To have some storing space, I have to clean up my neighbour's garage.First I disassemble the fusleage crate on leave only the propeller and the canopy.

I will have to find some space for the cowls, the gear fairings and the spinner
