New problem, all holes are to be drilled to non metric sizes and the drill bits are chosen by number, letter or inches. Today I mixed up some drill bits and for sure the hole is now to big. Van's got me a solution so I don't have to buy a new half rear spar.

The replacement parts have arrived, and building resumed. I still have an egde distance issue but it's less critical than with the reinforcing angle. I surely have a problem with this spar. The second hole from the right is too near to the edge. We'll see that next time

Today, I prepared a painting corner with chicken-wire support, some plastic sheets to protect walls and floor (this surely will have to be modified in the future as the workshop will get more crowded).

While waiting for Van's answer about my dimpling problem, I decided not to touch any cutting or drilling tool, but to prepare my first priming session. I got a thorough look at my painting gun, fabricated a small holder and a dedicated painting air hose. Then I sanded all the parts. At the end of the morning I got Alain's visit, he is building a RV-6 for a dozen years now. We spoke about my mishaps : all is normal. At the end of the afternoon (early morning in Oregon), I got Van's answer : clean it up to remove any rough areas, put a normal size rivet in the hole, and patch it with filler before you paint it. Cheap and easy.
