The rear spar has to be rigged with brackets to receive the ailerons. The brackets need to be assembled, but they first have to be deburred, drilled and coutersunk. On the rear spar I also have to install the flap brace and aileron gap fairing. These parts have to be prepped before priming. Tomorrow the weather should be fine to allow for a priming session. Today I finished the inboard rib, I installed the pick-up tubes, the vent line and return line fittings. First I had to apply a Vans Service Bulletin requesting to safety wire the pick-up linre nuts. Here is a picture of both sides. Then I installed the fittings. I then inspected and cleaned everything. The tanks are now on hold as I'm waiting for the tools to torque the nuts before closing. Today I riveted the las tank rib. Before closing the tanks I still have to finish this rib, by installing the fule pick-up, the different lines and the inspection plate. On the picture you can see the angle that will attach the tank to the fuselage, and the reinforcing plate that goes on the rib inside the tank. Working time on this subpart Today : 1h (Total : 67h) |
