Today I worked on the bagage bulkhead, the picture shows all : the nuplates all around and on the center rib are drilled and riveted and the center rib is riveted.

For the center rib, Sabine bucked the four rivets under the fuselage belly.

Here is a picture of my little repair on the center rib.

I also installed teh wearblock that will protect the shoulder harness cable from shaffing while going through the bagage bulkhead.

Today I finished riveting the canopy decks and the parts intersecting with the seats bulkhead. Some rivets proved to be very difficult to set.

At the end, I riveted the small rear additional bulhead and reinstalled the upper skins.

Today was riveting day. First I riveted the aft deck,

then the gusset between the longeron and the firewall.

Then I wanted to rivet the parts between the main bulkhead and the seats bulkhead, but I noticed that there would be some interference if I finished the seats bulkhead. As the picture shows, the cleco is not fully set in the hole, and this rivets are to be set after the canopy is finished.

Here a view from inside, the problem holes are barely visible behind the aluminium angle that has to be rivetd now. My solution was to file down the offending part just enough to allow for pop rivets to be set further down the building. It would be impossible to buck or squeeze rivets here.

After having riveted the seats bulkhead, I only have the parts clecoed to the upper longeron left to rivet.

Vans answer to my problem from yesterday was quite short : fill the hole with a rivet a,d build on.

The problem is that the hole is for a bolt and thus is to large for a rivet. So I decided to fabricate a doubler allowing the riveting and the use of a bolt. After a few tries, here is the result. Three rivets will hold the doubler to all the other parts, and one of the rivet will hold only two parts and the shophead will fill the hole so as not to interfere with the nutplate.

Here the backside with the nutpalte and the hole that will be filled by the shophead of one rivet.
