The new parts have arrived from Van's. So I fabricated the spacers, drilled everything and tapped the lower hole of tie-down plate to be able to insert the tie-down ring.

Today, some work on the tanks while waiting for the parts from Vans for the wings. First I disassembled the tanks, the I fabricated the stiffeners that will be riveted to the lower skin. As usual the stiffeners have to be cut, drilled, deburres and dimpled



The I fabricated some small parts for the fuel tank. The fuselage attach angles being the more difficult parts. They ar cut from some heavy aluminium angle and need quite a few cuts and sanding to fit correctly there intended place.

Finished the underwing accessplates by drilling, deburring and dimpling them. Just have to be careful about hole size.



The upperwing skins need a doubler near the wing root, because it's there that pilot and passenger will step on the wings. This doubler is just cut from some aluminium sheet and then backdrilled using the skin as a template. Then all the holes got deburred.

Riveted all the tank and access panel nutplates on the main spar. Sabine gave me a hand and to finish she trained using the riveting gun, I think she will be quite good at it.

Assembly and riveting of the rear spar. I had to drill out some rivets as I had forgotten to dimple the reinforcing plate's flange. 11 rivets to drill out per spar, it's only time.



On the picture, some rivets are missing on the reinforcing plates. It's normal the holes will be used to rivet the ribs.
