The session begins with the sanding of the remaining parts : forward skin and panel structure.



Then I installed the two fresh air scoops. They will be prosealed to the skin but I decided to use a few rivets to hold the scoop while the proseal is setting. To avoid braking the scoop during riveting, I fabricated a one piece shim with some leftover aluminium sheet. It didn't take to long and looks nice.

I had some time left and begun assembling the mapbox. here are all the parts : the box, the door and some supports angles. All need to be installed in the panel.

Sabine helped me rivet the upper aft skin of the fuselage. With long arms and a chair, it was possible to rivet everything without climbing in the fuselage. We bucked almost two hundred rivets and only one had to be drilled out.

Beginning of the sanding of all the parts that have to be primed. This pile is what I managed to do in two hours and there is more left.

No workshop time today as I caught a cold. I used the time to redo the trim wiring diagram. On VansAirforce there was a group buy for the new TCW Technologies Safety Trim system. I tink it will allow a safer operation of the trims, stoppong them if they are running to long and allowing some control in case they are stuck. It will also mix the inputs from both sticks without having to install relays.
