I removed the spinner and sanded everything. Some small problem areas had to be filled. When everything is cured, and after a light sanding, I should be able to apply a last layer of primer. The picture shows the shoulder created inside the spinner. Working time on this subpart Today : 1h (Total : 16h) |

I first begin by marking the wires (see the article about the method I use). The learning curve was not that steep, some trial and error before getting an acceptable result. I then installed a grommet on the rear bulkhead to pass all the wires through. I also positionned the magnetometers so that they are perpendicular to the instrument panel. The angle having been primed, I had to reinstall the magnetometers. The final tweaking will be done later. I also fabricated the harness. In fact I had to disassemble the GRT harness, install wires into the D-SUB, put some heatshrink and assemble the shell. I still have to mark the wires and route them to the fuselage and the panel. I'm not happy with the results after the proseal has cured. So I removed everything and do a new small shoulder with epoxy and flox. It's harder than proseal, but will be easier to sand to make small adjustments. Working time on this subpart Today : 2h (Total : 15h) |
